Our groups are very small, maximum of 10 passengers to ensure our passing will have minimal effect on the villages and local ecosystems as we explore the hidden treasures of Maphrao Bay with its tropical lagoons, magical mangrove rivers and amazing forests. Paddle our kayaks into the far reaches of the Mangrove Rivers and you can swim or relax on pristine deserted island beaches.
The object of our one day trip from Phuket is to move quietly through an area that enjoys a lifestyle unchanged in decades and longer, while enjoying our very special pampering aboard the luxury cruiser the “Pitta”.
Your first stop, after leaving Ao Chalong is Tapao Island, which is a nature lover’s paradise, with beautiful forest walks where very old trees can be seen. For the fit, some of the paths can be quite steep, but if you prefer a more leisurely stroll you can always take a walk along the flats. Perhaps you will see Hornbill birds and many other species that can be heard, but you will really need to look hard into the mature, flourishing jungle to see them.
There is one of the oldest light houses in Thailand to be seen high up, you can walk up to it and explore the ancient buildings that surround the light house. It will be a short walk but with a gradually steep leafy path leading the way. There are magnificent panoramic views of Phuket to mesmerize and a great place for photography.
Next we will cruise down the ‘Forgotten Waterway of The Thai Chin Canal’, which separates the Island of Phuket and Koh Sirey, through the old Asian fishing port which is the largest in Phuket and then under the bridge and into the wilder side of the canal.
There are many water birds and Kingfishers to catch sight of along this stretch of water. While we Cruise quietly through traditional Thai fishing villages, you will have the chance to observe the fishermen at work as they use centuries old techniques and equipment to land their catch. If you desire we can visit a traditional village and experience the hospitality that is second nature to these wonderful folk and view the village scene.
Then onwards we go, for a gentle cruise, through the dense Mangrove Forest and out into the shallow waters of Maprao Bay. You may be lucky to see troops of wild monkeys and dazzling colourful birds including Sea Eagles, Hornbills and Kingfishers.
Between Coconut Island and Phuket are the incredible floating seafood restaurants of Laem Hin. These are amazing restaurants that float directly on the water and serve scrumptious fresh seafood. By prior arrangement, we can stop for lunch at one of the floating restaurants, or if you prefer you can be served and enjoy your feast onboard the “Pitta”.
After lunch we will head off to Koh Rang a beautiful private island for swimming, watch a live pearl demonstration or visit an exquisite jewellery shop, selling gold and pearl masterpieces.
Ending a perfect day by cruising home along the other side of Koh Maprao and Koh Sirey and if we have time, more swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. Or simply sunbathe or do some fishing from the comfortable cockpit or the huge sundeck on the “Pitta”, as she cruises onwards in paradise.
Maximum of 6 guests for 2 days and 1 night or 3 days and 2 nights
This is truly a wonderful experience; our first stop will be at Taphao Island for a nature walk up to the very old light house with its spectacular panoramic views of Phuket. This island has an old small naval base; they take care of the light house as well as feed the many families of Hornbills that reside on the island, a great place to observe these wonderful birds. This is such a peaceful island with very old trees and lush jungles with lots of butterflies and birds to see.
Then it’s a trip down a forgotten water way the Thi Chin Canal, through the main fishing port of Phuket under the bridge and out into the Thai villages and mangroves that are usually never experienced by tourists.
The next bay is Maphrao Bay, which is very shallow, but our flat bottom boat can transit the bay without a problem and then proceed into a narrow strait between Maphrao Island and Phuket. Here there are floating restaurants and we will spend the night, under the glorious stars, tied up to one of them and be served a great seafood supper. Later on you can visit the other restaurants by kayak, which is so much fun for everyone!
The next morning you will wake up to the call of the sea birds and the glassy, serene water conditions, which are normal in these protected waters. Coffee, eggs and bacon for breakfast in the open air, what a treat!
Then we are off to Rang Island where you can witness a fabulous pearl display, go for a walk on the lovely clean beach and through the coconut trees to see the other side of this beautiful island. You can swim, kayak and generally have fun. We’ll then slowly cruise back to Chalong Bay stopping at interesting places along the way.
Each boat trip has its minimum cost. This includes: charter fee, fuel, water, fruit and drinks and the wages for the crew. This value is divided equally by the number of guests. Therefore, the best prices for Eco Tours in Thailand are achievable when the number of visitors reaches 8 to 10 people. However, the minimum cost of the tour is greatly enhanced for couples, lovers and small groups of travelers. RiverRovers eliminates this disadvantage and makes Private Boat Tours on Phuket more accessible. We use an individual approach to pricing and apply different pricing policy for small groups of travelers or newlyweds who are willing to spend their honeymoon with us.
|Group||Price per person||Tour price|
|1-4 people||3990 THB||15960 THB|
|6 people||2995 THB||17970 THB|
|8 people||2500 THB||20000 THB|
|10 people||2200 THB||22000 THB|
|11 people||2175 THB||23925 THB|
